Question: My little one 1month old and suffering from cold last two days. We visited a doctor today. He said there is some throat infection. Given Maxtra oral drops for 3days. She has no fever. But nose is blocked and some noise while breathing. Is there any concern. Do we need to take any precautions.

Hi,

Since there's no fever, no other medications needed at this point. Just follow as per the Pediatrician's advice.

Additionally, avoid taking the baby to any over-crowded, dusty places. Better to stay indoor until full recovery.

Always ensure to feed in the upright position and always tap on the feet and shoulders after feeding to assist in proper burping.

Additionally, for nose block, you may simply put Saline nasal drops 1drop in each nostril thrice daily for the next few days. If possible, give some steam inhalation gently also.

If at all, you notice any difficulty in feeding/breathing, any excessive irritability or lethargy then make sure to immediately report it to the treating Pediatrician for a prompt evaluation.
