Question : My mother aged 57 yrs is feeling gas n slight stomach discomfort n mild pain since 10 days. She has been taking Pan 40 every morning to get relief but tue discomfort is not going away. Please help and suggest some good medicine...

It could be due to indigestion

Hello,

I usually suggest an ultrasound whole abdomen to rule out any structural problem. Also widal test to rule out typhoid. If it is a peptic ulcer due to acidity then antibiotics are needed. If Pan 40 is not resolving the symptoms then it is less likely to be acidity.

Meanwhile she can try eliminating foods that cause indigestion. It could be milk, wheat, or any other foods that her gut is not digesting. So she can eliminate one food at a time for few days and see if it makes her better.

Yes she can take Gasex tablet

Hi again
For gas, she can Gasex tablet one or two tablets twice a day after meals. She can discontinue the medicine in few days especially if gas is relieved.
