Question : My name is XXXXXXX Pearson I am 20 years old I suffer from constipation last night I accidentally took 3 fleets glycerin suppositories because I thought we ran out of Powerade so i took 3 suppositories as a substitute for Miralax stool softener because i thought we ran out of Powerade what should I use to mask the bad taste of stool softener the trouble is i have surgery on Monday where anesthesia will be used i want to ensure laxatives will not affect surgery
Brief Answer:
Use imodium 4 mg stat.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for asking query on this forum,
You need not to worry at all.If you are in a day care surgery very likely they would use propofol.
Laxative stool softeners and all are not going to have any effect or problem in doing surgery.
Propofol makes your brain to sleep(in easy language) hence all the reflex based actions would be slowed down.
However in case you still want to nullify stool softener effect take Imodium(over the counter) 4mg tablet stat followed by one after 6 hours.
Hope I was clear and easy to understand.
