Question : My new doctor prescribed Tizanidine for migraines. He also prescribed Levofloxacin for n a bsessed tooth. I also have high bloodpressure. Should I be taking this medicine ? Do you have a better suggestion for migraines? I had been taking Hydrocodone 10/325 as needed for years.I'm 73 years old.
Brief Answer:
Propranolol would be a better option for you.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have noted your clinical details. For you, propranolol would be a better option to prevent headaches. Propranolol is known to reduce the frequency and severity of migraine headaches. Tizanidine is not as effective in migraine and moreover, it can cause side effects including sleepiness.
For relief from headache, you can take naproxen tablets.
I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.
Thanks.
