Question : My period just ended last Wednesday but I started bleeding again today. what can cause this to happen or why is it happening?

Thanks for the query.

There are many causes of irregular periods....they are different for different age groups.
Please furnish me more information as to-
-Your age.
-your menstrual habit( length of cycle, type &duration of bleeding, any other problem regarding menses)
- Any accompanying problem you have.
-Are you of childbearing age...are you planning for a baby?
-Taking any type of family planning device?/have tubectomy done.
This would facilitate me to think&advise you about your problem.
*Till then, if bleeding is excessive...take rest,/have light nourishing food/drink sufficient water /take cap CVP Gynae 2 capsules two or three times a day.

I'm 30 years old. I do have anxiety, depression and occipital neuralgia. My husband and I aren't actively trying but more of a if it happens it happens. my cycle is usually 28 days and usually lasts for about 5 days. no procedures done.

* Irregular bleeding, been there for first time....in child bearing age &with regular periods could be-
-A physiological happening...like ovulation bleeding , this occurs as a sign of ovulation around 13th to 15th day of menses in your case(it's 14 days before the expected date of periods on an average.)
This is mostly in form of scanty flow lasting for few hours .
- Extreme phychological or physical stress can lead to hormonal imbalance leading to such bleeding.
-In case it's after sexual contact...this can be due to physical cause..like severe cervical errosion OR polyp.
-This also could be early pregnancy with period leser than normal flow &repeat bleeding ...mostly due to hormonal insufficiency.
* So in my view it's needful
-To confirm or exclude pregnancy by home pregnancy test (with collection of urine sample without blood or other contamination...may be catheter specimen if needful)
Rush to doctor if the test is positive for further specific advise.
-In case bleeding stops within couple of days with home care already advised.....you should wait &observe,
Consultation of gynecologist in case bleeding recurs /or does not stop
*Recurrent irregular bleeding demands a through physical examination,USG scanning,Hormone estimations (To exclude problem in uterus,cervix /hormonal cause(in thyroid,ovarian , pituitery origin or pcod)

I've always had abnormal levels. I just took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. I'm still having the "spotting". the spotting doesn't even fill up half a pad throughout the whole day

In such case, you need to get investigated for finding exact cause...as I had suggested earlier...a through physical examination , hormonal estimations &USG pelvis .After finding the cause..specific treatment would be possible.
