Question : My father facing subhyaloid premacular hemorrhage, he is complaining about dimension of vision since 3 weeks. Hence we visited eye specialist and Doctor advised the RIGHT eye vitrectomy surgery (may use silicon oil injection if needed) which is to be done on Wednesday 26-Aug-2020. My question is given the age of patient and diabetes history, will operation is good solution? will patient recover his vision?
Brief Answer:
Vitrectomy is a good option
Detailed Answer:
Hey thanks for the question . The haemorrhage has occurred due to diabetes and vitrectomy is a good option . But ultimately it is the retina and retina surgeries dont have any hundred percent guarantee as you dont know how retina will behave . But if the surgery is not done that could also be detrimental to the vision . Therefore in such cases vitrectomy is your best bet . Hope it helps . Regards
