Question : hello I am 50 and I take Lupron shot for fibroids and polyps in uterus cavity. I am also on Norethindrone 5 mg 2 x day for the bleeding. I am having issues with the bleeding again and I am wanting to go off the birthcontrol and just try see how I will do with Lupron injection. I am currently awaiting a hysterectomy in September. My question is should I stop the birthcontrol cold turkey or should take lower does for few days?

You can reduce the dose of norethisterone because it is progesterone which reduces the bleeding due to the unopposed action of estrogen in the fibroid.

You are taking it in already very low doses.
But you can reduce the dose of it, do not stop it suddenly.
