My Sister Is 31 Years Old, Married For Over 7

Recently they met a doctor in US who has requested certain tests and told them AMH, or anti-mullerian hormone is low which could be the reason for not getting conceived. Is this true? Can anything be done? What are the reasons for this hormone getting reduced in my sister's body, are there any medicines to improve this levels and help her bear a second child naturally?
AMH cannot be increased
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply:
1) AMH ( Anti mullerian hormone) is a test to identify the egg reserves in a lady at any given point of time in her life.
2) AMH values reduce if the egg reserve is low. AMH is a way to measure it. Yes if AMH is low, chances of pregnancy becomes low.
3) Egg reserve diminishes with age and there is no way to increase and hence AMH cannot be increased.
4) Let her get transvaginal ultrasound to count antral follicle count (AFC). This will help us to identify the egg reserve left in her. Based on that advice for trying naturally , with medicines or techniques like IVF can be decided.

Thank you for the quick response. With reference to your point #4, can she ask the doctor in US to specifically perform the Ultrasound test ?
Why would this AMh deteriorates, as she is aged only 31. I hear many people saying they gave birth even until 35 and 36 years.
Could work stress be counted as one factor for this reduction?
Thanks,
Srikanth.
Genetic linked causes
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Stress could be a reason for this but not always. Main reason for such decline in AMH genetic linked and some women are known to undergo premature menopause. This is mainly genetic linked and thats why some women have good reserve till 40 years and conceive.
Doctor in the USA can also perform antral follicle count measurement.
