Question : My son, 38, wife 36, daughter 10, 3 sons 3,7,9, all have headaches, sore legs,cough,fevers. Flu, strep, have been ruled out. Any idea what this could be and how to treat?

Hello dear and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection.

I suggest using medication to relieve the symptoms.

I suggest using anti inflammatory medication for the fever such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day.

I also suggest using cough expectorants such as Mucinex.

I suggest to drink liquids and rest.

If the symptoms continue I recommend doing a complete blood count and a chest x ray to exclude a lung infection.
