Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for asking on this platform
I have gone through the query and do understand your concern.
Vomiting lasting for 3-4 days can lead to fluid loss and thus dehydration. Please let me know, the age of child.
Also if there is any yellowish discoloration of eyes or urinary difficulty.
Vomiting can be commonly due to indigestion, urinary infection or jaundice.
Giving anti emetic like ondensetron with acid reducing agent like ranitidine or lansoprazole helps in reducing vomiting. But always an underlying cause should be ruled out if vomiting persists even after giving these medications.
The dose of ondensetron is 0.2 mg/kg/dose while that of lansoprazole is 0.5 mg/kg/dose. Ondensetron can be given 3 times a day and lansoprazole once a day.
Close observation for urinary frequency is very important as decreased frequency suggests dehydration and that may affect kidney function.
Please get back to me with details so that I better able to help you out.
Thanks and regards
