Question : My son was having jaundice in year 2015 in the Hostel where he was doing B,Tech+ MBA. I brought him to my place at XXXXXXX and got him treated by Dr XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Gastrologist. His SGPT came down to 67 at that year, Doctor told me that he will be normal within 1-2 months. He advised him to lead normal life and asked to eat normal diet.
He is fond of eating rich diet specially non veg ( fish/chicken/egg) inspite of my advice to eat less richer diet.
Two days back, i got his blood tested. I am enclosing his blood test. Now his SGPT is 97.
Pl advice after seeing the blood report.
Pl advice the diet for him.
Is it time to worry? or with change in life style, he will be fine,
Pl advice medicine/ tonic/ Live52 etc

                                    Brief Answer:
Not concerning yet...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Liver enzymes under 100 are not serious. They do not indicate threatful situation especially when other liver function test parameters are normal. All other blood test results are essentially normal and not concerning.
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Non vegetarian diet in moderation is ok and has no real implications on current liver problem now; so do not be worried. There are no special dietary restriction; he can continue the non vegetarian menu as long as it's ok thoroughly and cleanly. Avoid unnecessary medications and follow up with the doctor.
May I know the reason for jaundice earlier?
Regards

Thank you very much for your kind advice. I am releived now.
It (jaundice) may be due to water of hostel as water tank was not cleaned or due to outside eating.

                                    Brief Answer:
difficult to comment on the specific cause....
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand what you say. But it is difficult to predict the exact specific cause. The food and water may or may not be the cause. But since he currently has no jaundice which is good.
Keep a close watch on his health. If needed liver function test may be repeated to know the status.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
