Question : My wife is having redness in her left eye for last 1 week. There is a feeling of dryness and heavy head due to that. She has been using Gentamicin for last 3 days with no avail.
Please advise.

Gentamicin eye drops are not commonly prescribed anymore

Detailed Answer:
Hey thanks for the question . There can be many causes of painful red eye ranging from infection, uveitis to glaucoma . She needs an ophthalmologist intervention as to why the redness has developed . After that we can prescribe her eye drops accordingly . Gentamicin eye drops are rarely prescribed anymore as we have newer eye antibiotics these days which are more effective .
