Question : My wife is in her 6th week in her post partum. She has fallen ill and suffering from fever with cough and chills. She took dolo 650 but her temperature keeps raising. Can you please suggest good medicines and a good baby formula for my daughter who is 6weeks old.?

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Fever in post partum period should be well evaluated. The fever could be due to infection of the uterus. She has to be examined well. Please do consult your GP or her gynecologist.

If these is sufficient breast milk to the baby , it is recommended not to give any formula feeds. Lactogen is one such formula feed given only when there is breast milk failure
