Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for replying back.

It is good to learn that you do not have diabetes or high blood pressure and do not smoke or consume alcohol. This reduces half of the worries.

Since this was the first time you tried having a sexual intercourse, it is natural to have problems in erection. It is known that erectile dysfunction are more likely to be due to performance anxiety in most men. There will not be a hormonal or a systemic cause most often in men with this complaint.I feel that this is the same in your case as well.

Here are a few tips to help you in this regard :

1.Make sure that you get as comfortable as possible with your wife, take time to speak about sex, your interests and share each other's thoughts.
2. Do not rush into having sex, enjoy a lot of foreplay, prolong the foreplay time and then try the actual sex .This is a very common mistake couple do when they are new to sex
3. You could watch a good movie which educates about sex, I suggest you watch it with your wife.
4.Keep away from tea, coffee and aerated drinks , especially 6 hours from the time you plan to have sex.
5.Try XXXXXXX breathing exercises , daily physical activity with a good healthy diet is very helpful
6.Give it a lot of time, many chances for yourself before you come to a conclusion that you really have a constant problem.
7.Avoid too much of masturbation, limit it to 2 to 3 times a week , this will help in having a better erection when you actually have sex.
8.Cut down on stress, when you get back home , do not think about work related issues.
8.If this fails to help , you may consider an examination with a UROLOGIST for any underlying cause. You may need to take medications if there is a need.

Hope this answers your query.I am available for follow ups as well

Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing back.

Masturbation is a natural way to satisfy one's sexual needs by oneself. It has not proven to be harmful in anyways.Sexual life remains perfectly normal in men who masturbate everyday. This is the not a known cause for an erectile dysfunction.

However, if one has an erectile dysfunction, we suggest to reduce the number of times one masturbates. Doing this would help in having a longer erection at the time of "actual intercourse"

Hope this answers your query.

Wish you good health
