Not Sure How I Noticed This But All Of My
Question: Not sure how I noticed this but all of my toenails have these shallow raised lines. Its barely noticeable. Are you able to see them? Is it normal? I read about something called about XXXXXXX Lines but these go up the entire nail and aren't spaced out. Whats even more strange is they are only on my toes and not fingers. I am dealing with a bit of Alopecia Aereta in my beard. Possibly related?

Brief Answer:
Longitudinal striations, associated with alopecia areata
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
I have gone through your query and reviewed the attached photographs.
These are longitudinal striations on the nail plate which are commonly seen in with atopy and alopecia areata.
There is nothing to worry about as they don’t have any serious implications.
They can reduce with time but usually persist for a few years.

Detailed Answer:
There is no specific reason for this but they are usually confined to the toe nails.
