Question: Noticed today that my son who is 6.5 yes old is having difficulty in reading word on the TV screen which we (I and my wife) are able to ready clearly. it was cricket match score board from 12-14 feet distance on 32" LCD.
I noticed couple of times that he holds XXXXXXX very near to his eyes in his online classes while reading few things.
His daily XXXXXXX uses are around 4-5 hrs with the break of 10 mins between 3 continuous classes of each 40 mins and then 1hr gape. and the TV watch time is around 1hr.
Please suggest that what can we do to improve his eyesight as this is at early stage issue as per me.

Thank you doctor for your reply. I understand that the evaluation is required. But just wanted to avoid the hospital visit right now due to covid-19 i.e. if you can suggest something which can we measure more, take care more or avoid something while we are at home. But if you think its must its must t go and identify the issue now itself then will see.

Hope you got the concern. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Try to curtail the screen time please

Detailed Answer:
I do understand your concern.
The best way to go about would be to decrease the screen time to 2 hours per day.
But it is difficult in this era of of online classes.
You can give him carrots and beetroot and papaya which are rich in vitamin A and good for eye.
I suggested spectacles because when used at the appropriate time they might even help in reducing the refractory error if used regularly.
Best regards.
