Question : OK here is everything that’s going on. I am wondering if it could be something that no one has looked for yet. January 30, 2019 I got a bad asthma attack and was put on steroids. February 7-9, 2019 I was in the hospital for my asthma. February 17, 2019 finally got off steroids because I had to be tapered very slowly due to side effects. February 18, 2019 I went to an urgent care facility and they diagnosed me with an abscess and cellulitis. They gave me Bactrim. February 19, 2019 the swelling was getting worse so I went to an ER and they did a CT scan and confirmed the abscess and cellulitis for the umbilical area, I have never had a belly button ring. They added Keeflex along with the Bactrim. February 22 the swelling got worse my doctor sent me to the ER, they did another CT because they couldn’t get a hold of the other hospital, and the radiologist completely missed the abscess and cellulitis. February 27, flushed skin, swollen face, trouble breathing, coughing, fever of 100, and dizziness. The ER gave me some Benadryl and changed my anabiotic to Clindamycin. 3/12/19 had to be taken off the Clindamycin even though I just stopped draining a few days prior and put on Flagyl for C-Diff. The ultrasound on march 11, 2019 showed a different area that is a few centimeters in size and 1.5 cm deep. As it’s with an ultrasound, they have no idea what it is. My doctor sent me to the ER yesterday because of swelling around my navel area. She was unable to see my bellybutton where on March 12 she could. The ER did an ultrasound and it showed the area getting smaller. They did not say anything about the swelling. Yesterday when I saw my doctor I was wheezing and I did not think anything of it I had a fever of 101.2 as well. Today I am wheezing like crazy, and I have sinus pressure and a stuffy nose and I’m coughing. I am pretty sure I have a sinus infection. I’m just wondering if one condition could be causing all of this mass instead of all of these different conditions. For instance it took years To be diagnosed with Ménière’s disease. The doctor when I was hospitalized told me my symptoms were psychosomatic. I’m just wondering if anything got looked over.

Brief Answer:
Your all sy are connected.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the detailed history you have given.
In my opinion, your all symptoms are connected.
Right now, you are having acute exacerbation of asthma due to infection.
Initially you had asthma exacerbation (January 30). The steroid given to you caused immunosuppression and secondary infection in navel area.
The same infection is now causing exacerbation of asthma.
So in my opinion, you should get done blood culture, sputum culture to identify organism which is causing this infection.
Please let me know
1. Have you undergone blood culture?
2. What is your recent chest x ray?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
