                                    Brief Answer:
Impetigo, oral and topical antibiotics recommended
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...
I have gone through your query and reviewed the attached photograph.
It seems to be impetigo which is a bacterial infection of the skin.
I would recommend him to take a course of oral and topical antibiotics.
You can continue with Dronex DT 100 for 5-7 days as it is an antibiotic.
He can apply topical antibiotic like Fusidic acid cream (Fucidin cream) on the affected area twice daily for 7-10 days.
This should resolve his problem.
Regards
Dr. Asmeet

                                    Dear Doctor,
Thanks for your answer.
Could you please let me know what is the possible reason for this infection. What are the other precautions to be taken? Can water be applied on the affected areas. Does the area need to be cleaned with something before applying the cream as suggested by you?

Welcome
Detailed Answer:
It is a bacterial infection very common in hot humid weather in children.
You need to keep the area clean, wear loose fitted cotton clothes and stay in cool airy environment.
Yes water can be applied on the affected area.
You can simply clean the area with water, dab it dry and apply the cream.
