Over The Past 2 Weeks I Felt Intense Stomach And

Now they come Out half and half. Some white and some brown. My face is still a catastrophe and is dry, red, sore, flakey and hideous. I’m using dermol cream on it regularly to try and help, as well as taking an anti histamine pill daily. I’ve removed all my bedding and washed all my clothes in non-bio for sensitive skin. I have a dog and have been extra careful to keep him out of my room, as well as
Vacuum and clean thoroughly (never had pet allergy before and had lots of dogs and cats in my life). My urine is also very dark. It isn’t brown but it’s a very very XXXXXXX yellow. I’ve never seen it so dark. I’m drinking plenty of water and it’s still dark. I am a pre-diabetic and my hba1c is around the 43 mark (it elevates). I’m going for blood tests tomorrow but I’m in a great amount of discomfort and despite my efforts to try and pinpoint if it is an incidental allergic reaction (have cut out dairy, I don’t eat gluten anyway as part of my low carb diet for pre diabetes and I’m certain it isn’t suddenly my dog) it isn’t improving. Any ideas what it may be or what I should ask my gp if I go back to see them? (I saw one a few days after the phone consultation who advised anti histamine and read up on paleo). I can’t go on with my face looking like a sore flakey burns victim, so should I ask for a referral to a dermatologist? I also didn’t provide a urine sample, which I found odd.
Probably an allergic reaction due to food intake, follow the advice below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction.
It is probably related to a food that you may have consumed.
I suggest you to take daily antihistamines such as Levocetirizine 10 mg.
I also suggest you to use Calmine lotion for local relief on the face.
For the gastrointestinal symptoms I suggest taking daily probiotics and drinking a lot of liquids.
If the symptoms continue you should consider steroid shots. These are prescribed medications, so you should consult your doctor before administering them.
I also suggest you to do an allergy test to confirm the allergen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further

I have a question about my face; how long would you expect to see the reaction before it passes? I was planning to return to my doctor within a week if it was still sore and dry.
I will also ask about the steroid shot if it hasn’t calmed by then. It’s been days already and it’s still very sore despite the medicine I am taking.
Thank you once again for your reply.
The symptoms of the reaction may last a few days, maybe two or three days.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,
Usually the symptoms of the allergic reaction go away in a few days, maybe two or three days.
If you take just antihistamines it might take a little bit longer.
The steroid shots are much more effective and the symptoms go away in less time.
I am glad I could help you.
Wish you good health.
Take care dear,
Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi
