Question : Pain under left shoulder blade and front left breast for a week getting worse. Usually wake up with the pain.

I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, the worsening pain involving area under shoulder blade
and front of breast can be part of underlying inflammation of part of ribs, muscles or
else.

Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query completely.

1. Pain - type, intensity, radiation if anywhere, aggravating factors, any changes with
position, breathing ?
2. Any other systemic issues as fever, body ache, breathing issues or else ?
3. How much relief with Advil ?

Pain radiates down my back on the left side. Pain begins within 5 minutes of getting out of bed - intense enough to cause me to break out in a cold sweat. Advil works to lessen pain within 15 minutes - I take 1 every 6 hours. No pain when sleeping but I usually take an Advil before I go to sleep. Usually sleep on my back or my left side. No other systemic issues except that there is heavy pollen and I usually take Claritan every day. I also have adult onset scoliosis.

* More likely to be related to ligament or muscle pain as there is no pain during sleep.
* Local analgesic spray or ointment, ice pack application can help with Advil for
additional comfort, but an evaluation for the cause of pain is mandatory with your
physician for final diagnosis and management.
* Till the time, avoidance of pressure over the same side should be avoided.
