Question : Please can I have a second opinion
For the past one week my poop has turned green. I had a telephone appointment with a GP who isn't concerned. My mum had rectal cancer and pancreatic cancer so I am worried sick. The shape always changes daily though it seems.normal other than being green. It is 8 days now and I haven't eaten anything green or on any antibiotics. I don't feel poorly or anything do I need to go to the hospital?

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Greenish stool does not indicate pancreatic, rectal or any GI cancer.
Greenish stool may be due to
1. Certain food items like green leafy vegetables
2. Bowel infection
3. Excess bile due to fast transit
Since you have diarrhea, most likely it is due to infection.
You can get a stool analysis done.
You can take a course of probiotics.
Take BRAT diet (Banana Rice Apple sauce Toast)
Drink enough fluids to remain well hydrated.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.

If it's relating to number 3 is this serious. I have had my gallbladder removed 10 years ago due to gallstones. I am so scared it's unreal I keep looking at myself worried I might turn yellow cos this is what happened to my mum. She passed away 18 months ago.of a very traumatic death. Some main vessel burst from pancreatic cancer and she haemorrhage everywhere from bottom.and mouth is was horrific and now I am so scared

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the additional information.
If gallbladder was removed recently, then excess bile and rapid transit might be the reason for your symptoms.
Regarding the question about MRI of parotid, you can post it as a separate question on a new page and an expert from that specialty will assist you
