Brief Answer:
can remain asymptomatic or cirrhosis, cancer development in some.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query with attached report and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, the chronic hepatitis B infection may pause
various clinical concerns as
- remaining asymptomatic for very long period
- possible turning into cirrhosis of liver
- development of hepatocellular carcinoma

However, if you can provide me further details about this, I can guide you further precisely.

1. Duration of liver problem with prognosis since beginning.
2. Associated comorbid conditions if any as diabetes or others ?
3. Current status of appetite, weight changes if any ?
4. Alterations in bowel or bladder habits ?
5. Do you consume alcohol ?
6. Any additional work up as ultrasound of the liver or else available ?

Awaiting for your response.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Shrikant
Thanks for the relevant information and ultrasound report of the liver.

* As you do not have symptoms at present, your SGPT report of liver
function is absolutely fine, you do not need any active treatment at
present.

* The Chronic Hepatitis B is not curative, but treatable and hence the
primary goal in HBSAg positive patient with long duration, is to prevent
complications or detect at earliest and treat accordingly.

* There are anti viral therapy and immunomodulators available for chronic
HBSAg condition, but used only for patients with symptoms or lab
parameteres of altered liver function tests.

My guidelines at present

- do not consume alcohol ( if applicable )
- eat healthy food
- do regular exercises
- maintain body weight
- remain in regular follow up with your physician every 6 months

Wish you good day.
Regards.
