Question: Hello Doc, I'm 30 years old and have been experiencing chills, calf pain, and mild fever for the past two days. I took 650mg of paracetamol and cetirizine, which provided about 30% relief, but I still feel unwell. Please suggest appropriate medication.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be a viral infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome here,

This seems to be a viral infection.
Is there any redness at the area of calf pain?
Any difficulty in walking due to calf pain?
How much is your blood calcium and vitamin D levels?
Is there any pain in ear or during urination?
Most virals get better within a few days with adequate fluid intake and paracetamol. Cetrizine should be taken if there is mucous or allergy. If it is getting worse or its been 4- days and symptoms are not improving, then we can go for blood tests including complete blood count, Platelet count, malaria blood film, dengue test, blood calcium and vitamin D levels.

Dr Vaishalee
