Question: My father is 73 years old and heart patient since 2012 as heart stents were implanted on him thereafter he was fine but again in November 2021 he had another bout of heart problem and this time he had heart failure due to which doctor advised him to take oxygen everyday through concentrator for one hour at night which he takes. However, despite of all this, he remains lathargic all day and behaves weird and has become totally indifferent and emotionless towards his family. Please suggest some treatment

Brief Answer:
As explained below

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query. It looks like he is experiencing stress leading to depression due his chronic health problems. I would suggest you to talk to him, encourage him and let him know that you all are there to support as family. You can even start a low dose antidepressant after consulting with his cardiologist or treating doctor.

Also make sure he is eating adequately or having small frequent meals or snacks.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to discuss further if any.
Regards.
