Pregnancy Test Showed Faded Lines After Few Hours. Have Nausea. Am I Pregnant?

Question: I did pregnancy test . It did not show positive immediately buy afte few hours it showed faded lines in the test Area. Very thin positive lines. Am I pregnant? I do feel nausea also . Pls suggest as I am trying to get pregnant.

Thanks for the query

If the pregnancy test did not show positive lines immediately then it is not likely that you are pregnant however weak positive ones can occur in the initial weeks of pregnancy. I recommend you to take the urine pregnancy test again after a few days.

Do u recommend that blood test are more accurate. If I get that done will it show intitial stage of pregnancy. Is it common for urine test to show such kind if result in initial stage of pregnancy?

Blood test also checks the same HCG levels so it could show false negative results. Yes urine test does show weak positive results in the initial period of pregnancy. You could however get an ultra sound done to be sure of the pregnancy.

Thanks for quick reply. My last follow up question is
What do u mean by weak preg test ? Do weak positive test most of the time appears very light after few hrs, instead of showing immediately?

Hello

The basic understanding is that HCG (a hormone produced during pregnancy) is used for the pregnancy test. If HCG is there in the body then most likely that you are pregnant. However sometimes during the initial periods of pregnancy there isn't enough HCG to show a positivity in the pregnancy test, so only a faint line is visible. So please repeat the pregnancy test after a few days to be sure of the pregnancy.
