Question : how XXXXXXX is Ativan? i take 1 mg a day. it was prescribed for anxiety

Thank you for the query.

This medicine is quite safe in regular dosage (like 1 mg a day). However it should not be taken regularly as it has strong addiction abilities. It should be taken only occasionally (to stop an anxiety attack for example). An addiction can appear after 2 weeks of regular usage.
If overdosed, can cause coma, breathing problems and death.
You may ask your doctor about Hydroxizine. This medicine does not cause an addiction what makes it much more safer for regular usage.
