                                    Hi,
Thanks for posting your query on XXXXXXX
After going through your query, I would like to comment the following:
1. Montelukast belongs to leukotriene inhibitor class of drugs. It is most of the times used in prevention of asthmatic attacks.
2. It has been used in prevention of anaphylactic attack.
3. Remember, no drug is without side effects. The same is the case with montelukast. However in clinical practice major side effects are not seen with montelukast.
4. The drug is safe and in conditions like asthma, it is being used for really long durations.
I hope I have answered your query. I will be glad to answer follow up queries if any.
Please accept my answer if you have no follow up queries.

                                    Hi,
Thanks for the follow up query.
Even though montelukast has been used in prevention of anaphylaxis, it does not absolutely prevent anaphylaxis however the chances of anaphylaxis will definitely be less. Also the trigger of the 1st anaphylaxis attack needs to be found and avoided in future so as to prevent anaphylaxis. I suggest you do a complete allergy testing and avoid all the possible triggers.
