Question: Previous query https://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/AskDoctorInboxServlet?page=viewQuery&queryId=413901
Thank you very much Dr. Diswas. I have begun testing my glucose with a device. Yesterday two hours after eating I had a reading of 141. This morning my device showed 150 on fasting for over 8 hours. I haven't yet started Metformin, but I don't understand how the fasting reading could be higher than at 2 hours after low carb food. I will do testing after I eat today and tonight just to get an idea I'm a bit confused!

Brief Answer:
The glucose level indicates diabetes
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
The blood sugar level indicates diabetes. Since your body doesn't respond to insulin the same as most, your fasting blood sugar reading can go up, even if you follow a strict diet.
So, I recommend to continue following the low carb diet.
I also recommend to start using Metformin as prescribed by your doctor.
Hope my answer was helpful.
