Question : Recent sputum test: No acid fast bacilli seen
Recent X-Ray: COPD with no focal infiltrate seen
FINDINGS:
PA and lateral chest reveals over inflation of the lungs consistent with COPD. The heart is normal in size. No focal infiltrate is seen. There is no skeletal lesion.

I can understand your concern

I read carefully your explanation of your disease.

The sputum result means that active tuberculosis is excluded

Regarding the chest X ray result these are the common findings in a COPD patient. They are not related to other diseases at all. If you are concerned about the COPD treatment you should do a Spirometry test. If its result is normal and if you don't have breathlessness or chronic cough with sputum than you don't need any treatment at all for COPD. Just watchful waiting.

I fully agree with your doctor. Keep in mind the above signs and symptoms . If they appear than we can think about a treatment for sure.
