Recently I Had A Health Check-up Done And There Are

Question: Recently I had a health check-up done and there are two things that I'm worried about in the reports. One is, my LP(A) test resulted in a reading of 50 mg/dl. the ideal range is mentioned as < 30 mg/dl. However, my overall cholesterol levels are well below the risky range : total cholesterol - 139 mg/dl and hdl - 40 and ldl - 85. I'm suspecting that my high lipoprotein reading is due to my use of thermogenic fat burners. Please let me know if the fat burners and L-Carnitine can increase the lipoprotein levels in blood and will it get to normal if I discontinue their usage. HS-CRP also resulted in a value 5.13 mg/dl. are these two related? if yes please let me understand.

my second question is about my serum creatinine levels in blood.the value is 1.33 mg/dl where the accepted range is below 1.1. let me know this is due to my high protein intake. will this be reduced if I reduce my protein intake? my eGFR is also at 72 which is at a minor decrease in kidney function. I think this is based on the serum creatinine value and is calculated using a formula. Please let me know what should I do improve my Kidney function.

Brief Answer:
decreasing protein intake would help

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The high protein intake can definitely play a role in increasing the creatinine level. The GFR is calculated based on age, creatinine , sex, race.
If the creatinine decreases with a change in diet then this should then affect the gfr calculation.

At 72, you still have relatively good kidney function (it would be classified as a mild decrease in function).
It can decrease with age but this decrease is not expected to start at your age- usually by age 60.

The risk factors for kidney disease are- blood pressure, blood sugar- these two are the most common risk factors. Controlling these factors helps to decrease the chance or progression of kidney disease
Other risk factors are family history of kidney disease and heart disease

The protein intake is also likely affecting your lipoprotein a levels, this is one possible cause of increase and decreasing intake should also cause to decline

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
