Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service!

I understand your concern and would explain that a lung angio CT scan can help rule out many lung disorders, including a tumor, lymph nodes, pulmonary embolism, an infection, pleural effusion or pneumothorax, etc.

If performed following Triple Rule out protocol, it can also help examine the aortic wall, the coronary arteries, the heart structure, and the pericardium and help exclude a possible disorder related to the heart or aorta.

On the other hand, it can help examine other structures like the thymus, the airways, and esophagus.

Hope you will find this information helpful!
