Question : Got my lipid profile test. Values are like this Cholesterol Total-159.00m Triglycerides 63.00, HDL Cholesterol 69.00, LDLCholesterol Calculated 77.40, VLDLCholesterol Calculated-12.60. It seems that HDL Cholestrol are on higher side. What does it indicate? I am regular drinker.
Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic
There are subdivisions of cholesterol – LDL, HDL and so on.
LDL (& non-HDL) is bad cholesterol (deposits in blood vessels) – lower, the better.
HDL is good cholesterol (moves deposits out of blood vessels) – HIGHER, THE BETTER.
In the absence of any other risk factor LDL of 100 or less is ideal; 70 is excellent...
Your lipid profile is very good...
Alcohol is bad for several organs in the long term – liver, heart, brain and so on...Take care...
God bless
Good luck
