Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Bloated abdomen and abdominal pain at the age over 50 should be always checked with possible colon cancer. Its because the risk of this cancer significantly rises over 50.
Loft middle, lower side of abdomen is where sigmoid colon is close to the skin. Tumor in this location or diverticulitis can give symptoms mentioned by you. This conditions are more possible if you have had any blood in stool, diarrhea and/or constipation, thin stools (pencil like), weight loss, weakness.
Bloated stomach due to colon cancer usually indicates some obstruction. If you are unable to pass gas or stool, this might be urgent and you should consult your doctor as soon as possible.
If gas and stool can be excreted freely, you should get scheduled for colonoscopy and in a meanwhile have blood work, abdominal ultrasound and urine analysis (urinary tract infection seems to be present as well).
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
