Question : I have the sensation of being punched in the stomach when trying to sleep, I make involuntary grunts at the same time. This happens nearly every night.
Brief Answer:
It may be irritable bowel syndrome
Detailed Answer:
Hi
It can be Irritable bowel syndrome.
You should reduce your anxiety
Dinner should be light,not heavy.
High fiber diet and green leafy vegetables have to be taken.
I prescribe a pre and probiotic capsule to my patients with this complaint along with antispasmodic.
If your condition is not relieved with these measures,
you should get investigated with Ultrasound abdomen & Upper GI Endoscopy
Wish you good health
