Posted on Wed, 12 Jun 2024
Question: Hello Doctor, I have done my health checkup in Apr 2023.
I have two questions:
1. I am using Atorva 10mg tablet since last 9months and my cholesterol level is normal now. Shall I continue with Atorva 10mg tablet or stop for couple of months and do the test again. If I will continue Atorva 10mg tablet for longer time, will be there any side affect ?
2. My ECG report is showing: Sinus Bradycardia, is it something serious?
Thank you in advance.
Note:
I generally do morning walk and Yoga on almost regular basis.
Smoke 2 cigarettes per day and occasional drinker (Specific to one mug of Beer)

Brief Answer:
I would recommend as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concern and would explain that the dose of atorvastatin that you are taking is really low with low rate of adverse effects.

I recommend continuing taking this dose of atorvastatin. Its main adverse effects are muscle cramps or weakness.

If this occurs, I would recommend checking CK plasma levels and liver enzymes . In case of increased levels of these enzymes, stopping atorvastatin for a couple of months, would be needed.

Regarding sinus bradycardia, it is not a serious cardiac issue.

Hope you will find this information helpful!
