Question : Hi I went out for a long bike ride 2 weeks ago and noticed discomfort and pain around the anal area while riding. When I got home and felt a lump outside of my anus. I figure it's a hemorrhoid. It's been 2 weeks and the pain is gone but the lump is still there but it seems a little smaller but not by much. I just looked at it and it doesn't look blue or purple but it is ever so slightly darker than the surrounding skin. Should I be concerned?

Hi and welcome. All this looks to me like typical symptoms of external hemorrhoids. This usually breaks up after long sitting or exercise and become thromosized. After that, lump become smaller over few weeks and pain dissappear. Some times skin tag may persist after hemorrhoid is gone. You may apply heparin gel, hemorrhoid al creams and warm baths. It will facilitate recovery but there is no fear of consequences. Wish you good health. Regards
