Should I Be Concerned About The Change In Taste Of Cytra?

default
Posted on Mon, 26 May 2014
Question: I have been taking Cytra-2 Sol XXXXXXX Qty 946 for several years to prevent kidney stones and it has worked. I would have an average of 3 unpassable stones per year before taking this med. QUESTION: Just got new refill and got 2 bottles. One in white rectangular (normal) and one in new round red colored plastic bottle. The med in new bottle has a very different taste than that of old style white rectangular container. Should I be concerned about the change? Both by same pharmaceutical, same NDC 60258-001-16 code.

Brief Answer:
Yes its Matter of Concern

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
Greetings,

After going through your history,I can understand the concern you have, any how please no not worry much.

Cypra-2 sol, is a urine alkaliniser, it helps in decreasing the acidic nature of urine, as because acidic urine are responsible for stone formation, so it is required to prevent acidity of urine. To be taken 2-3 times a day mixed with water.

As per your question about the change in bottle and test of medicine, YES you should be concerned and if possible take your old bottle to the pharmacist show him the composition you were taking earlier and procure the same old variety of Cipra-2 sol.

If the medicine is changed than it may not work properly in decreasing the acidity of urine followed by preventing stone formation.

Important point is composition of the medicine should be same as per your previous medicine.

Also I want to advice you to keep check on your Blood Pressure, Diabetes, and Cholesterol part.

Hope I have cleared your doubt, if further any query you have please do not hesitate to write me back.

Will be waiting for your response eagerly,

Wish you a healthy life,

Regards,

Thanks.
