Should I Be Concerned About The Swelling Of My Foot?

Question: Two weeks ago I fell and broke my hip. I am in a rehab center. My recovery is severely impacted by my foot drop and crooked foot. I can’t get my heel to touch the ground. I am not stable walking on my tip toes and it hurts. My foot is swollen and more painful than before. And more painful than my hip.
Should I be concerned about the swelling of my foot. And any tips on getting my foot heel to go to the ground.

Brief Answer:
Foot swelling is probably due to inflammation
Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
Foot swelling can be related to inflammation due to the injury.
I recommend to use anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the inflammation and swelling.
I also suggest to maintain the foot elevated to prevent further swelling.
Cold compresses can also be helpful.
Physical therapy may be needed to help the foot recovery.
