Question : Stopped breast feeding on my left boob a few months back.
Noticed while showering two days ago a small pea sized lump/bump or smaller that is hard and tender. Wasn't tender until I messed with it. It is on my areola toward the top.
Should I be concerned? I still breast feed but only in my right side. I am 36. My son is 1.5 years old.

Brief Answer:
It could be a simple swelling with Milk(Galactocele)

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description,it could be Galactocele. This swelling can get infected and lead to Abscess.
Please get an Ultrasound of the Breast and know the nature of swelling. If it is small cyst or Galactocele, the liquid can be aspirated by a Needle under Ultrasound guidance. If it is a Solid Swelling as per Ultrasound, you should get an FNAC(FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION CYTOLOGY). Exact diagnosis will be known.
Nothing to worry.
Please consult a General Surgeon/Breast Surgeon and proceed further.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health and speedy recovery
Regards
