Question : I have been suffering from two kidney stones (3 mm and 4 mm) for the past one month. During my last visit, you prescribed a one-week course of Potassium Citrate and Nitrofurantoin, and advised me to drink plenty of water.
Now, I am experiencing the following issues:
1) Frequent urge to urination especially at night even though bladder is not full(disrupting my sleep)
2) Burning sensation while urinating
3) Stress or pain in the bladder and lower abdomen
4) Intermittent lower back pain
5) General discomfort and lack of proper rest due to these symptoms
Could you please advise:
1) Are these symptoms normal as the stones are passing?
2) Should I continue with Potassium Citrate or start any other medication?

Brief Answer:
Needs testing
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query
Tye symptoms appear to be due to urinary tract infection probably secondary to stone.
I recommend you to get a URINE microscopy test done to confirm the same.
Yes do continue the potassium citrate
