Brief Answer:
Possible infection should be ruled out

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Redness following intercourse can occur due to friction (especially in postmenopausal women), allergy to any products used like condoms, lubricators etc or infection (including sexually transmitted and non sexually transmitted infections).

A pelvic examination and vaginal swab microscopy can help to reach a specific diagnosis. So please be advised to follow up with the urgent care.

It is not useful to take Flagyl before confirming the diagnosis, as Flagyl does not work for all types of infection.

However, you can take Cetirizine 10 mg at bedtime now to reduce itching if present.
Management will depend on the underlying cause.

Hope this answers your question
