Question : My right ankle feels sprained.I can not walk.Sever pain. Should I stop taking Atorvastatin. I have been taking 10mg nightly for 7 days the pain started one day ago
Brief Answer:
Atorvastatin has nothing to do with pain at ankle .
Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel , Orthopedic Surgeon.
In my opinion ,Atorvastatin has nothing to do with pain at ankle . Atorvastatin is given to reduce bad fat in your blood .
The pain in your ankle could be due to multiple reasons, including disc disease ,ankle sprain or some muscular pathologies. If you back pain and ankle pain - then the correlation is between the two , which is very often the case.
I suggest you get Blood tests for Uric Acid ,Vitamin B12 and D , Complete hemogram and if Required MRI of lower back.
Thanks for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
