Question : I recently had a CT scan done and it Noted, an Aberrant right subclavan artery. I have struggled with dysphagia since having neck surgery last year and my throat needs clearing due to voice changes at times.. The ER doc was looking for a PE so this was not on his radar. Is this something I need to worry about? Traci

                                    Brief Answer:
I don't think you should
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Aberrant subclavian artery is not problematic unless there is associated artery aneurism which could in this case compress important neck structures such as trachea or esophagus. If there are no breathing difficulties then PE should not be present. This is probably related to your neck surgery but also, other conditions of dysphagia may be present such as GERD, gastritis, esophageal spasms, Zenker diverticula or some less common issues. Therefore, if it persists, you should do gastroscopy.
Wish you good health.
