Question : my son woke up throwing up 3x early am, currently complaining of pain on his right side of stomach and says it hurts when he inhales. has temperature of 101degrees. should i take him into urgent care?
Brief Answer:
Symptoms need attention...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The fact he is woken up by pain and is running temperature with vomiting suggest an underlying inflammation/infection in the gut. Can you specify which part of the abdomen hurts - upper or lower right side?. The appendix is located in the lower abdomen. While stomach/gut, as well as gall bladder, is in the upper area. The infection could be in either of these two areas and needs to be addressed at the earliest.
I recommend him to see a doctor at the earliest. He needs a blood test and ultrasound scan which will help us isolate the cause.
Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards
