Question : I have slight hypertension. I have bp machine at home and it hovers around 133 to 135 and bottom from 85 to 90. I checked every two days for last one year. I haven't taken any medication so far. Should I start using any medication or the levels are ok? Male 37 vegetarian software engineer

Hi,

Normal BP is 120/80.

Anything more than 120/80 and less than 140/90 is considered high normal.

There may be no need for any medications for this reading but salt restriction would become essential now.

Also, weight reduction if you are over weight will help in reducing the BP.
