Question : Hello Doctor!
As per last recommendation from Dr. Kakkar, I have completed the 7 day course of Acyclovir, Ibruffen and Bactroban for Herpes Zoster.
The inflammation on the skin subsided 3 days back and the rashes have started drying up.
Should I now discontinue the medicines now?

Brief Answer:
You can stop.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for posting the concern in HCM.
It is good that you followed Dr. Kakkar's well written advice. And you got the results too. Now you can stop all the oral medications. You can continue with Bactroban ointment until all the rashes are transformed into dried scabs. If there is itching or burning sensation you can apply calamine lotion ( marketed as Aquaminol) locally. After the scab falls off, you can apply Cetaphil lotion over the areas.
