Question : if I have a hernia of the large bowels should I still have a colonoscopy initiated?

This helps to plan adequately and intervene in a timely manner if there is need so that complete treatment can be guarantee and complications related to this condition avoided. A hernia in no way prevents this from being done. However, it would help the doctor to anticipate that the colon may not be in the exact same position and direction if there I a hernia so as to be able to go about it.

In all, it is still a good idea to get a colonoscopy initiated even with a hernia of the large bowels.
