Should I Take I Pill Inspite Of Having Unprotected Sex?

Question: Hi. Well, i had unprotected sex twice in 2 days involving ejaculation with my mate and my period cycle is from the 20th of every month. I needed to know whether i should take any precautionary medicine like an ipill because im a little skeptical; or be assured that im safe since my menstrual cycle just ended a week back. Please guide me as urgently as possible since i would need to take measures before its 72 hours.

Hi.

There is a very simple calculation.

The ovulation occurs around 14 days prior to the next period. Add or subtract 3 days before and after.

Since your period is on 20th minus 14 days is 6 th of this month. Plus & minus 3 days is dates: 3rd to 9 th is a unsafe period. If you had sex today or yesterday, it is advisable to take i-pill.

(The safe period is only 1 week before and 1 week after the first day of a period if one has 28 days cycle)
