Should Something Be Done For Elevated Blood Sugar Levels And Deranged Lipid Profile?

Hope you are doing well.
I have just gone through an intense full body checkup and now I am little concern about a few medical terms in my report. Could you please review my report and let me know where would I have to put efforts in order to make myself healthy.
Elevated blood sugars and deranged lipids
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I went through the reports with diligence. There were few abnormal values noted, but I would talk about the two significant abnormalities here:
1. Your blood sugar as well as hba1c value is elevated. Do you have history of diabetes? If yes, what treatment are you on?
2. The lipids parameters are deranged. There is elevated triglyceride level along with low HDL value. I would start you on lipid lowering medications if you are not already on it.
Besides these two significant ones, other abnormalities that you see are:
1. Your weight is just above normal limits. It's better to follow a healthy diet comprising of low calories, low fats along with exercise. It will bring back the BMI to normal values which is beneficial.
2. ALT is elevated. However the value is under 100 and therefore the elevation is insignificant. You need not be overly worried about it.
3. RDW is moderately high. As all other hemogram (CBC) value is under limit, this elevation is also not significant.
In other words, I will be bothered about only your elevated blood sugars and lipid values. Others are not concerning.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards

Thanks for looking into it
You need to perform blood sugar tests...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Your blood sugars (I assume it was random blood sugar) and hba1c is elevated beyond acceptable limits. Since you do not have history of diabetes, I will recommend you get a fasting blood sugar along with post prandial sugar test done. Based on the results further management will be planned.
At this point, yes you do not have normal blood sugar. The values indicate prediabetic / diabetes status.
Lipid derangement do not necessarily cause symptoms immediately. However on the long run, it carries a risk to atherosclerosis leading to cardiovascular disease and stroke. It should be controlled. You can control it by diet and exercise with or without medications. I recommend starting medications.
Hope I addressed your two questions. Let me know if you have any other specific questions.
Regards

Blood sugar test was before fast only and there was no test conducted post prandial.
I will surely start exercising as I believe it will cover both problems.
Thanks
Sugars are above cut off limits...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If it is the fasting sample that was used to test blood sugar, then value of 131mg/dl is above the cut off limits for prediabetes. I will strongly recommend repeating fasting blood sugar along with post prandial blood sugar and then visit your doctor. You may be started on medications to control blood sugar. This is your priority for now.
Yes, diet and exercise will help, but in my opinion you also need medications for controlling blood sugars.
Hope I am clear. Let me know if you have any other specific concerns.
Regards

Is it serious?
yes above limits
Detailed Answer:
Yes, I meant it is above limits.
It is not serious. However I am concerned you may have diabetes. Fasting blood sugar above 125mg/dl suggest diabetes. Thus my suggestion to repeat fasting and post prandial blood sugar. You can see your doctor with test results.
I will be available here for consultation if necessary.
Regards
