Question : Since Feb 2019 I have been suffering from gastro issues it started with a dull nagging tummy pain during that month. Came on right after eating some greasy stir fry food. The following months at least once a month I had diarrhea and the same tummy pain. I went to the doctor in April and they told me I had gastroenteritis. Symptoms went away after treatment but came back in May and XXXXXXX like clockwork. I went back to the doctor in July and was told I had a Norovirus. This time they did more blood work and took stool samples and that resulted in them finally telling me I had food poisoning and mild wheat intolerance. They treated me and I no longer had diarrhea, but now I get a dull tummy pain, I burp more times in a day then I care to express, my stool movements are normal but the tummy pain is random and annoying. I drink ginger/peppermint tea, take peppermint pills, ginger drop and still end up feeling sick and bloated. To ease the pain working out helps because I notice once I work out the pain goes away sometimes. I also find if I work long hours and go a long time without eating I get extreme ill resulting in tummy pain, burping, vomiting, and cramps once I eat. It's so frustrating how one time it's they say its gastroenteritis, the next time its Norovirus, then food poisoning and wheat intolerance.

                                    Brief Answer:
Possible hiatal hernia
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome. I don't think this is enterocolitis. It is more likely hiatal hernia or certain food intolerance. So you need to do gastroscopy or barium swallow test first to rule these issues out. You also need to do food allergy testing and calprotectin test. These will rule out inflammatiory bowel diseases. Peppermint may just aggravate symptoms and should be avoided, as well as spices, coffee, fried food, alcohol, milk, pasta..
Entercolitis usually don't last so long, it is associated with fever and diarrhea so I believe that problem is in upper gastrointestinal system. Wish you good health. Regards
